Navigating the Central Touchscreen

Navigating the Central Touchscreen
SYNC®4 is Ford’s latest-generation communications and entertainment system which is designed to deliver a seamless connected experience between you and your vehicle.
Despite its size, your vehicle’s central SYNC touchscreen1 is easy to navigate, with a simple layout and intuitive design that makes it easy to find the settings and features you need.
There are four main icons that will help you gain access to the areas you will use most.
- The Home button - Situated at the top left-hand corner of the screen.
- The Settings, Features and Apps buttons - These sit on the right-hand side of the Home screen.
The Home Button
Press this to return to the home screen at any time.
The Settings Button
Press this button to go straight to the menu that hosts controls and settings for your phone, sound, vehicle, clock, general settings, instrument cluster, central display, connectivity, mobile apps, software updates, Ford Assistant, ambient lighting and valet mode. When you select one of those items you will be presented with specific settings and options.
The Features Button
Press this button to access your Taurus drive modes and options for your driver assistance features. You will also find a searchable, digital copy of the owner’s manual here - and you can also open the boot/trunk from this page.
The Apps Button
The Apps button is where you will find options for Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and other SYNC compatible apps.
Climate controls
At the bottom of the touchscreen is your climate control bar. You will find individual temperature controls for the driver and passenger on each side of the screen, as well as other key controls and functions.
To activate Dual Zone Climate Control, tap the centre icon and select DUAL.
You will also find the MAX AC button here, and you can also select where you would like the airflow to be directed.
Digital owner’s manual
Incorporated into your SYNC®4 system is a digital copy of the owner’s manual for Taurus. You will find it in the Features menu. Just tap the Owner’s manual button, then use the search bar to look for something specific.
Decluttering the cabin
Because SYNC®4 offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity you can leave the cords at home and connect your smartphone to the SYNC®4 touch screen without wires. There is also now a wireless charging pad for smartphones2. However, alongside the wireless charging pad are USB outlets so that you can connect your smartphone to SYNC®4, and keep it charged, using a wired connection if you like.
